5,000 Step Milestone Achieved!

Yesterday was an awesome day for The Restoration Project.  I woke up feeling great.  When I put my shirt on it felt huge, which made me think I was losing weight.  Whether I actually did is irrelevant.  However, that shirt became my new favorite shirt 🙂

I also achieved one of my first milestones.  I walked 5,000 steps!!!  According to the US National Library of Medicine’s article, 10,000 steps per day is the popular number for healthy adults.  So I monitored my steps every day last week and found that I’m averaging 2,500-3,000 steps per day.  This makes sense being that I sit at my desk most of the day.  This also means that I need to find ways to get more steps in.  Luckily my office has a huge parking lot. So I started waling a few laps a day.

So I’m being smart about this.  Rome wasn’t built in a day.  I am setting goals to work my way to 10,000 steps per day.  Goal #1 is to achieve 5,000 steps per day. Yesterday I walked 5 laps.  That was the big factor in getting me over the 5,000 step mark.  Now I need to continue this effort on a daily basis!
