Seasons Greetings & Happy Holidays everyone!
Last week my company held its annual holiday party. It was held at the impressive TPC Jasna Polana in Princeton, NJ. The affair was incredible. The food and drinks were terrific. The atmosphere was festive. It was a wonderful evening.
I have to admit that the image above almost didn’t happen. You see, upon arriving at the venue I grabbed my camera and reached for my tripod. My wife gave me a look which basically said, “dont you dare bring that inside.” I gave her a look back that didnt really say much of anything, but I grabbed the tripod anyway.
Towards the end of the night I grabbed my tripod and camera, and headed out to the lobby to setup for the shot of this staircase. I have been on a starburst kick lately so I stopped down to f22 which meant long exposure times. I bracketed 3 shots at 2, 8, and 20 seconds. After repeating this a few different times, I decided to head back to the reception as my wife was probably wondering where I was. Although I didn’t get to spend much time with the staircase, I was happy because I got the image I came for.
BTW – I showed my wife this image and now I can take the tripod anywhere I want
